Hello food lovers! Today we are visiting a super fancy and fun restaurant called Peshawri, located right near the Mumbai Airport inside the grand ITC Maratha hotel! Instead of regular spicy curries, this place specializes in making the most amazing, smoky barbecue food cooked inside a giant clay oven called a Tandoor. The restaurant is decorated with cool stone walls and wooden seats, making it feel like a cozy, luxurious camp!
You must absolutely try their famous Dal Bukhara! It is a lentil soup, but it is cooked over a slow fire for 18 whole hours with lots of cream and butter. It becomes so thick and smooth, it almost tastes like a savory cream cheese with a wonderful smoky flavor. If you like meat, you have to order the Sikandari Raan. It is a giant roasted leg of lamb that is so incredibly soft, the meat just melts right off the bone without even trying!
Here is the most fun part about eating here: they want you to use your hands! You will not find any forks or knives on the table unless you ask nicely. The sweet staff will even tie a cute little apron around your neck so you don't get your nice clothes messy while you dig in. It is a bit expensive, but the super fun experience and mouth-watering flavors make it a must-visit treat!
