Peshawri (ITC Maratha)

Delicious & Smoky North Indian BBQ!

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Int'l Airport Rd, near International Airport, Ashok Nagar, Andheri East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400099, India

Hello food lovers! Today we are visiting a super fancy and fun restaurant called Peshawri, located right near the Mumbai Airport inside the grand ITC Maratha hotel! Instead of regular spicy curries, this place specializes in making the most amazing, smoky barbecue food cooked inside a giant clay oven called a Tandoor. The restaurant is decorated with cool stone walls and wooden seats, making it feel like a cozy, luxurious camp!

You must absolutely try their famous Dal Bukhara! It is a lentil soup, but it is cooked over a slow fire for 18 whole hours with lots of cream and butter. It becomes so thick and smooth, it almost tastes like a savory cream cheese with a wonderful smoky flavor. If you like meat, you have to order the Sikandari Raan. It is a giant roasted leg of lamb that is so incredibly soft, the meat just melts right off the bone without even trying!

Here is the most fun part about eating here: they want you to use your hands! You will not find any forks or knives on the table unless you ask nicely. The sweet staff will even tie a cute little apron around your neck so you don't get your nice clothes messy while you dig in. It is a bit expensive, but the super fun experience and mouth-watering flavors make it a must-visit treat!

Hello food explorers! Today we are taking a magical time machine all the way back to 1923! Tucked away in the beautiful, tree-lined streets of Ballard Estate in Mumbai, there is an amazing old cafe called Britannia & Co. The very moment you walk in, you will see cute checkered tablecloths and old, curvy wooden chairs that came all the way from Poland a hundred years ago. It feels just like stepping right into a sweet, vintage movie!

When you sit down, you absolutely must try their superstar dish called Berry Pulav! It is a super flavorful, colorful rice dish filled with a secret, deeply spiced meat gravy at the bottom. The best part? It is covered in tiny, sour red berries that they fly in all the way from Iran! The mix of the savory meat and the tangy, popping berries will make your taste buds do a happy dance. Also, try the Sali Boti, a yummy mutton curry covered in a mountain of crispy potato sticks! And whatever you do, do not leave without ordering the wobbly, sweet Caramel Custard for dessert. It is so soft and delicious!

Here is a very important secret for your adventure: they are only open for lunch! Usually, they close the doors by 4 PM, so you have to make sure to go early. Also, they are very old-school and do not use credit cards, so make sure your pockets are full of cash before you go. Hello food explorers! Have you ever wanted to go on a secret treasure hunt for food? Well, Masque in Mumbai is exactly that! Hidden inside an old, cool warehouse area called Shakti Mills, this restaurant is like a magical laboratory. When you step inside, the high ceilings and moody lights make you feel like you've entered a very special, secret club.

Here is the most exciting part: they do not have a regular menu where you pick your food! Instead, the super talented chefs decide what you eat. They go on adventures all over India to find the freshest and most unique ingredients, like rare mushrooms from the snowy mountains of Kashmir or special spices from the sunny south. Then, they create a "surprise" 10-course meal for you. It is like opening a delicious present ten times in a row! Every single dish looks like a piece of art and tastes like an explosion of wonderful flavors.

Eating here is a big event, so you will need to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show for about two to three hours. The friendly staff will tell you fascinating stories about where your food came from before you take a bite. Because this place is so famous and special, it is quite expensive and you have to book your table many weeks before you go. Put on your prettiest outfit and get ready for a dining experience you will never forget!

Just a tiny note! This fun guide was created with a sprinkle of AI magic. Restaurant details might change, so please call them before your exciting visit!

Shree Thaker Bhojanalay

Shree Thaker Bhojanalay

Building No 31, Purshottam Niwas, Dadiseth Agiyari Ln, Marine Lines East, Kalbadevi, Marine Lines, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400002, India

Restaurant Overview

Established in 1945, Shree Thaker Bhojanalay is an iconic and historic vegetarian restaurant in Mumbai, renowned for serving one of the most authentic Gujarati dining experiences in the city. For over 75 years, it has maintained its heritage and uncompromising quality, attracting both locals and global food enthusiasts. Unlike modern fine-dining establishments, it offers a homely, nostalgic atmosphere where guests can indulge in the true essence of Indian home cooking through an unlimited 'Thali' meal.

Address and Location

The restaurant is hidden away in the bustling, narrow bylanes of the Kalbadevi neighborhood in South Mumbai. The exact address is Building No. 31, Dadiseth Agiyari Lane, Gaiwadi, Kalbadevi, Mumbai. Because it is located inside a crowded traditional market street, the entrance can be somewhat dingy and difficult to find for first-time visitors, but discovering this hidden gem is part of the charm.

Characteristics (Pros and Cons)

The biggest pros are the incredible value for money and the exceptionally warm hospitality. The staff constantly circulates the dining room, insisting on refilling your plate with freshly puffed breads and piping hot curries, making you experience true, warm Indian hospitality. As for the cons, the location's accessibility can be challenging; the narrow lanes make bringing a vehicle difficult. Moreover, due to its legendary status, it gets extremely crowded, and you should expect to wait in line, especially on weekends.

Signature Menu and Taste

The sole signature offering here is the unlimited Gujarati Thali. Served on a massive steel platter, it features an endless array of dishes including dal, sweet and spicy kadhi, seasonal vegetable curries, farsan (savory snacks), and an assortment of breads like rotis, puris, and hearty bhakris. Gujarati cuisine is known for its subtle sweetness beautifully balanced with mild spices, resulting in a clean, complex, and incredibly satisfying taste profile without being overly greasy.

Good to Know

The menu changes daily based on the availability of fresh, seasonal ingredients, ensuring that every visit offers a slightly different array of traditional delicacies. Since it is an all-you-can-eat format and the hospitable staff will enthusiastically encourage you to eat more, it is highly recommended to arrive with a very empty stomach.

슈리 타케르 보자날라이 (Shree Thaker Bhojanalay)

Building No 31, Purshottam Niwas, Dadiseth Agiyari Ln, Marine Lines East, Kalbadevi, Marine Lines, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400002, India

정확한 주소는 Building No. 31, Dadiseth Agiyari Lane, Gaiwadi, Kalbadevi, Mumbai입니다.

[Y^^]: In-N-Out Burger

[Y^^]: In-N-Out Burger

From time to time, I visited there when I lived in Irvine. It's a regional chain of fastfood restaurants.

I heard that it started from California and Headquater was in Irvine. Also I heard that everything they use is from Californa. Only the owners' family and relatives can open the restaurant.

Eventhough I heard that every restaurant is in California, it's not true. I saw some restaurant near California, such as Arizona, Nevada, and Utah.

I have no idea if meat and vegitables are from California. However, it't true that meat and vegitables are fresher than any other fast food restaurants.

Its menu is simple. There are only a few. I think simple menu makes the quality better.

Of course it is just a fast food restaurant. I can not say the taste of In-N-Out Burger is better than that of original restaurant. However, I do not doubt that it's one of the best fast food restaurants.

I have not lived in California anymore, so I'll miss In-N-Out Burger.

I love In-N-Out Burger!!
